A recent Spanish study has revealed a fascinating relationship between the sexual attractiveness of a male bird and its intelligence in the search for food. Researchers at the Natural History Museum in Barcelona suggest that female birds may not only choose mates based on appearance, but indirectly, based on their cognitive abilities as well.

The study revealed 

 In Biology Letters, A Journal of the British Royal Society, it is stated that the longer the yellow stripe on the feathers of large colored tits, the higher their skill level.

To investigate the relationship between bird beauty and intelligence 

 The researchers conducted experiments placing seeds in feeders designed to prevent spontaneous dispensing. The small sticks blocked the feed, requiring the birds to remove at least one stick to reach the food, according to the Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper.

Under the supervision of Fernando Mateus Gonzalez of the Natural History Museum of Barcelona 

 He found that the speed and this problem does not depend on their size or social status is indicated by the size of a black patch on their chest but by the length of a spectacular yellow stripe. The longer this strip lasts, the faster the birds will identify the obstacle blocking access to the seeds, solve the problem and reach their strengths.
